A popular San Francisco-based Indian chain is set to make its debut in Atlanta by the end of the year.

Franchisee Hemant Suri, who recently sold Midtown Tavern, is currently scouting locations for the first metro Atlanta Curry Up Now, which will join locations in Sacramento as the first to open outside of the Bay Area.

“Atlanta has a great up-and-coming food scene, but no one is doing Indian the way Curry Up Now is,” Suri said in a press release. “When we heard about Curry Up Now and saw what they were doing, we knew we had to be the first ones to bring the brand and their unique and innovative cuisine to Atlanta.”

Founded in 2009 by husband and wife Akash and Rana Kapoor and senior VP of operations and co-founder Amir Hosseini, Curry Up Now’s menu features dishes such as Tikka Masala Burrito, Deconstructed Samosa, Sexy Fries and Naughty Naan; traditional items such as Kathi Rolls, Biryani and Thali Platters; and Indian street food offerings including Pani Puri, Marwari Kachori Chaat, Bhel Puri and Papdi Chaat.

The spot uses gluten-free curries, chutneys and sauces; cage-free eggs; local, organic produce and dairy products; and Halal protein options.

Curry Up Now is partnered with Fransmart, the franchise development company that has worked with Five Guys Burgers and Fries, The Halal Guys and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

Suri told What Now Atlanta that he plans to open five Curry Up Now locations in metro Atlanta over the next three to five years, and that potential areas for the first location include “somewhere along the Beltline,” Alpharetta, Buckhead, Cobb County and Decatur.
