Suns out, grills out.
It’s grilling season, and we’re priming up our grills and smokers to prepare steaks, chicken, veggies, fish and more. Read on for all things barbecue and grilling:
- Food writer Mark Bittman’s latest book, “How to Grill Everything,” provides tips and recipes for grilling, including how not to overcook chicken and the best way to grill fish. Bittman will be in Atlanta on May 17 discussing and signing the book.
- Atlanta History Center is celebrating the art of barbecue with “Barbecue Nation,” a new food-centric exhibition, focusing on the idea that barbecue is a truly American food. In addition, Southern Foodways Alliance is hosting a screening of a short film about Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ located in Austin, Texas and a panel on barbecue with Bryan Furman of B’s Cracklin BBQ and Jiyeon Lee of Heirloom Market BBQ on 7 p.m. May 23.
