Rejoice, young UCLA’ers.

You know the saying: when God shutters a steam table Chinese buffet in West LA, he opens a noodle shop in Westwood.

There’s almost no denying the divine intervention at the new Top Leaf in Westwood. With a sunny interior draped in leafy stencils, the smallish room on Gayley seems meant to be, at least for UCLA students looking to down pork buns, dumplings, and lots of noodles.

Top Leaf seems to have soft-opened last week, just around the corner from that always-busy In-N-Out. There’s a full menu of noodles, combo plates, and fried rice dishes, plus a complement of teas and simple sides. Better still, Top Leaf apparently sells breakfast as well, pushing options like tea eggs and porridge.

Top Leaf is currently very soft open, but plans to make things official with breakfast and lunch hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., before closing down to prep for lunch and opening again 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
